5/28, Cookbook Love: Tenderheart - Hands On

$84.00

Chef: Caroline Barrett
Date: Wednesday, May 28, 2025
Time: 6:00PM-8:30PM
Calling all cookbook lovers! Here is your chance to explore popular, new cookbooks, and connect with other like-minded people. In this new event, we will gather and cook recipes from one cookbook, then enjoy and discuss the results.

For May, we will delve into Tenderheart from Hetty Lui McKinnon, which is a cookbook about vegetables and family bonds. This cookbook is a love letter and an anthology of vegetables, and offers much to discuss. Stay tuned for June Cookbook Club!
Anyone who registers for the class can purchase the book from The Book House in Stuyvesant Plaza for 20% off! Let’s support small businesses together.
Please note: Purchase of the book is not required to participate in class, and there will be copies to browse if you choose to not purchase one.

Proceeds from Cookbook Love will be donated to a local food non-profit, to be decided by participants in class.
This class is appropriate for students 16 years and older.

Menu:
-Huck’s Broccoli and Lettuce Salad with Accidental Ranch
-Fennel and Lentil Avgolemeno Soup

-Curry Gai Lan Chow Fun (Rice Noodle Stir Fry with Greens)

-Sweet Potato and Black Sesame Marble Cake
Allergen/Dietary Notice: Please be aware that the following items will be used in class: gluten, dairy, nuts and egg.
About Caroline: Caroline Barrett is a writer, educator, mother, and small business owner. She is a lover of spice and flavor and centers her classes around global cuisines. Read her stories on our blog, Words + Recipes.
