🍣 Ready to satisfy your sushi cravings? Stop ordering out and learn to make it yourself! We are thrilled to host Albany’s own renowned sushi master, Yasuo Saso, for a fun, hands-on workshop. You’ll go behind the scenes of this Japanese art form, learning the secrets to perfect rice, where to hunt for the freshest ingredients, and the professional techniques needed to slice and roll like a pro.
This class is open to participants 18 and older.
Menu:
- California Rolls – A classic favorite with crab, creamy avocado, and crisp cucumber, rolled in seasoned rice and finished with sesame seeds.
- Cucumber Rolls – Light and refreshing, featuring crisp cucumber wrapped in sushi rice and nori for a clean, simple bite.
- Spicy Shrimp Rolls – Tender shrimp paired with a creamy, spicy sauce, balanced with cool cucumber and rolled to perfection.
- Allergen / Dietary Notice: Please be aware that the following items will be used in class: rice, seafood and shellfish, and soy.
- About Yasuo and Kathy: After an apprenticeship in Tokyo for 12 years, Yasuo Saso came to Albany to invigorate the local sushi scene. He and his wife Kathy Saso operated Saso’s Japanese Noodle House for many years, a revered Albany landmark.
